Robert Keohane

Political scientist and international relations expert, his studies focus on the role of hegemony and neoliberal institutionalism in international relations. Professor Emeritus at Princeton University, he has also taught at Stanford, Brandeis, Harvard and Duke Universities. He is a former President of the American Political Science Association and the International Studies Association, and recipient of the Balzan Prize. By virtue of his latest publications, such as 'The Regime Complex for Climate Change', he is also well suited to lectures on Climate Change, with a natural spin-off to the field of International Relations.

Shoshana Zuboff

Scholar, writer, and activist Shoshana Zuboff is the author of three major books, each of which signaled the start of a new epoch in technological society. Her recent masterwork, The Age of Surveillance Capitalism, already translated into twenty-five languages, has been hailed as the tech industry’s Silent Spring and the Das Kapital of the 21st Century. Professor Zuboff is the Charles Edward Wilson Professor Emerita at Harvard Business School and a faculty associate at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Carr Center for Human Rights.”

Joseph Stiglitz

Graduated at MIT, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in economics for his analyses of markets with asymmetric information, and he was a lead author of the 1995 Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. In 2011, the Time named Stiglitz one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Stiglitz helped create a new branch of economics, "The Economics of Information," exploring the consequences of information asymmetries and pioneering such pivotal concepts as adverse selection and moral hazard, which have now become standard tools not only of theorists. His work has helped explain the circumstances in which markets do not work well, and how selective government intervention can improve their performance.

Judith Ann Tickner

Anglo-American professor and theorist of feminist international relations. She was the first feminist theorist of international relations to head the Intenational Studies Association. One of Tickner's most famous newspaper articles was the piece "You Just Don't Understand", which criticized leading international relations theorists for omitting gender from their theory and practice. While mainstream scholars argued that feminists should develop scientific and falsifiable theories, J. Ann Tickner opposed this claim, favouring a "bottom-up" method of social analysis that makes the role of women in IR visible, also opposing traditionally masculinistic narratives, including men, money and war. Her books include Gendering World Politics: Issues and Approaches in the Post-Cold War Era, Gender in International Relations: Feminist Perspectives on Achieving International Security.

Robert Pollin

Robert Pollin is University Professor of Economics and Co-Director of the Political Economy Research Institute (PERI) at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He is also the founder and President of PEAR (Pollin Energy and Retrofits), which, with his outmost publications and books, explains his accademic and personal commitment to analyse climate change and public policy approach to this urgent issue through the foundamental economic lens. He has worked as a consultant for both public sector and numerous non-governmental organizations on various aspects of building high-employment green and sustainable economies, from local as well as international perspectives. He has also directed projects on employment creation and poverty reduction in sub-Saharan Africa for the United Nations Development Program. Due to many other scientific merits he was recognised by Foreign Policy magazine as one of the “100 Leading Global Thinkers for 2013.

Grammenos Mastrojeni

Grammenos Mastrojeni is an Italian diplomat and professor of Environment and Geostrategy in various universities around the world and has dedicated himself for over twenty years to the theme of climate change. Since 2019 he has been Deputy Secretary General for Energy and Climate Action at Union for the Mediterranean, based in Barcelona, and President of UN Mountains and Global Island Partnership. He collaborates with the Climate Reality Project, an initiative aimed at spreading awareness of the risks associated with climate change launched by Nobel laureate Al Gore.

Harriet Lamb

Harriet Lamb is the Chief Executive Officer of Ashden, an organisation that supports and promotes sustainable energy enterprises from around the world. Her career builds on campaigning for fair trade, equlity, and civil society development, as it is shown by her well recognized role in the Fairtrade foundation. From 2001 to 2012 she was the Exectutive Director of the United Kingdom Fairtrade Foundation, and in 2012 she became Chief Executive Officer of the global standards, certification and producer development organisation, Fairtrade International. From 2015 to 2019 she was the CEO of the peacebuilding organization International Alert.

Carlotta Sami

Carlotta Sami has been working for over fifteen years in the field of international relations, human rights and humanitarian intervention. In 2012 she was General Director of Amnesty International in Italy. Since January 2014 she is Spokeperson of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Regional Office for Southern Europe. From 2003 to 2008 she served as Program Director and Spokesperson for Save the Children in Italy and until 2012 she dealt globally with humanitarian emergencies for the organization, by coordinating communication strategies. Carlotta Sami began her career in 1998 in the Palestinian Territories where she worked with the Local Technical Unit of the Italian Cooperation in Jerusalem and with many other Italian and international organizations. In 1998, after a Master degree in Law, she obtained her PhD in General Theory of Law at the State University of Milan.

David Murakami Wood

Educated at Oxford and Newcastle in the UK, David Murakami Wood is currently Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in Surveillance Studies at Queen’s University in Ontario. He is a widely published specialist in the sociology and geography of surveillance and security in cities from a global comparative perspective, with a particular focus on Japan, Brazil, Canada and the UK, and is also very interested in science fiction and the future of surveillance.

Giovanni Ziccardi

Professor of Legal Informatics at the Università Statale of Milan, and of Computer Crime at the Master in Law of New Technologies at the University of Bologna. He coordinates the Research Centre in Information Society Law (ISLC) and he is in the Security Committee of the University of Milan.

Maximo Torero Cullen

Maximo Torero Cullen is the Chief Economist of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) since 2019. Prior to joining FAO, he was the World Bank Group Executive Director for Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Mr. Torero had also led the Division of the Markets, Trade, and Institutions at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).

Fabio Rugge

Head of ISPI's Centre on Cybersecurity, as well as a diplomat currently working as Head of the Office in charge for NATO and Security and Politico-Military Issues, Directorate General for Political Affairs and Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He also worked at the Italian Prime Minister’s Office and prior to that he was Counselor at the Italian Delegation to the North Atlantic Council in Brussels and Consul General of Italy in Mumbai (India), and held several positions when working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rome. He is also adjunct Professor of Cyber Diplomacy at LUMSA University. His extended scholarship of academic works extends to the topics of States digital interests and analyses of geopolitical conflicts in cybersecurity.
